Otto is a wine bar from Eric Tronchon, an MOF chef who runs the close by one-star restaurant Solstice. I obtained to know (and love) Tronchon’s cooking when he was at Semilla, and when he developed the menu for Semilla’s next-door wine bar Freddy’s. The menu at Otto is very much like Freddy’s: diminutive plates of grilled shitake mushrooms, fried issues, grilled seafood. The wine checklist at each locations is excellent. However in distinction to Freddy’s, which is all the time so busy that we are able to by no means appear to get a seat, Otto is abandoned. No less than it was the evening I went. I’d suggest it if you want a last-minute spot to take wine-loving associates who most likely aren’t going to eat that a lot. Particularly if that group consists of vegetarians, and particularly on a Sunday or Monday evening.

IN OTHER WORDS
- Michelin Information “A welcome addition to the rue Mouffetard: this bistro with a minimalist decor comprising concrete flooring and ceiling is modelled on the Japanese izakaya. Beneath the management of chef Eric Trochon, Otto proposes a delicacies for sharing primarily based on a brief menu that revolves across the produce, merely accompanied by a condiment or a sauce for that further kick. Therefore chimichurri, sauce vierge or diable, ponzu sauce or lemon condiment are served alongside meat and fish, usually cooked over binchotan coals.”
