Uncover the life and work of French actress, journalist and girl of letters Colette (1873-1954), a star of her time who took a lot care over cultivating her picture. Certainly, monitoring down what was actual in her life and what was ‘created’ is sort of the fascinating treasure hunt…

In case you are not aware of Colette, this new exhibition on the Nationwide Library will help you uncover her uncommon character and see how she left a big mark on her period, partly by means of her writing and partly by means of the way in which she offered herself.
Divided into 5 most important sections, the presentation appears at her uncommon early years, her profession as a author, her proximity with the world of music corridor, her magnificence parlour, her 1,200 articles written for the press, her daring relationship with sexuality…
With over 350 displays (manuscripts, work, images, engravings, big-screen projections, costumes and private objects…), you’ll be capable of be taught every little thing about Colette and the life she led, experiencing two world wars and assembly individuals as various as Jean Cocteau and Audrey Hepburn.
