When visiting Garde Hvalsøe in Copenhagen final June, I spent a while exploring their showroom and getting a more in-depth take a look at the best way they work with pure supplies, and their lovely exact detailing. Among the many many kitchens and Cupboards on show, one cupboard stood out with its clear strains and calm, minimalist character. It instantly gave me a Japanese design feeling. The Koshido Cupboard and OEO Studio
Designed in collaboration with Danish OEO Studio, the Koshido Cupboard was initially created as a bespoke piece for a residence in Tokyo. OEO, identified internationally for its work throughout interiors, structure, and product design, typically bridges Scandinavian design ideas with a delicate Asian sensibility. With their Copenhagen base and challenge workplace in Tokyo, the studio works with narratives rooted in tradition, place, and custom, one thing that turns into seen within the Koshido Cupboard’s calm proportions and considerate detailing.

Bespoke kitchens and cupboards
Throughout 3daysofdesign, the Garde Hvalsøe Garde showroom hosted Deltag, a joint presentation with De La Espada that centered on craftsmanship, materials presence, and a slower manner of experiencing design. The house was curated with a quiet sense of hospitality with items by Neri & Hu and Manuel Aires Mateus had been proven alongside Garde Hvalsøe’s personal work, creating a relaxed dialogue between kind and materials. The Koshido Cupboard was a part of this setting, and throughout the softened ambiance of Deltag, its minimal, nearly Japanese character felt much more pronounced.
I actually loved visiting Garde Hvalsøe and seeing the totally different kitchens and cupboards, all nice examples of Danish craftsmanship. Pictured above is the Hoelgaard kitchen in lovely oak, an actual piece of furnishings for the house and naturally I like the minimal styling with totally different ceramics.
