The Conciergerie, the fascinating monument close to our inns, has simply opened a brand new exhibition spotlighting round 40 artists from Benin by way of 100 artworks (work, drawings, sculptures, movies, images…), a few of that are being proven for the primary time.
The exhibition is split into three chapters:
— Goddesses and Gods, the metamorphosis of these behind the West Africa Vodún cult,
— Queens and Kings, the ability and glory of the kings and queens of Abomey, and
— Girls and Males, those that reside and wrestle in our globalised world.
The exhibition is curated by Yassine Agnikè Lassissi, director of the visible arts division of ADAC (the humanities and tradition improvement company in Benin), and artwork historian Emmanuel Daydé.

Linked with the exhibition there are:
— workshops within the afternoon of nineteenth & twentieth October
— African tales and fairytales from Twenty sixth-Twenty eighth December, and
— a celebratory weekend on sixteenth & seventeenth November with a number of concert events (Mina Agossi and her group AGE7, the Gangbé Brass Band…) and the Chachenga meals truck!
