  • Add carrots, potatoes, herbs and water.

  • To complete: take away bay leaves.
  • Improve warmth and add cornstarch combination, stirring till thickened
  • Add remaining milk and warmth by. Serve.

Notes

Substitute common ham or bacon for the dry-cured ham – or use a ham bone. 
You would thicken it with heavy cream moderately than cornstarch. And / or use cream instead of the milk.
